Intoduction to Inside rfactor

The Secrets Inside rfactor

yes good example of this for me at least is malaysia that long right hander or is it china on the start finish striaght into t1 i forget which track but i would have it set low and 'coast' adjusted over by diff settings so my throttle action wouldnt induce oversteer plus what i also do at that track is i use split axis and would be on brake and use throttle while still leaving some brake on to get thru the turn quicker without unsettling the car. in other words if you just hit the brakes hard at the end of a fast straight into a slow or slowing turn then then come off them the car reacts to the centre of gravity being thrown forward where as with brake left on but easing it off and same time using throttle it reduces the jump in C.O.G. to the front thus making the car more stable. I dont use that everywhere but it makes the car so much more stable and therefore quicker thru the turn. Its quite a balancing act and some people just cant get on with it as if done wrong you just understeer off past the corner lol so you have to balance it. A little off topic but thats wot i do. Also did this at daytona into t1

Glyn's talking about the art of trail braking thur the turn. Turely a talent for sure. And as I watch other drivers in amazment as how they get thru the turns so quick......trail breaking is a big part of why I'm 3 sec off the top guys in testing. I can do it quite well in fast sweeping turns but those slower turns I have no answer for. Example..... is I'm very quick in the fast right hand sweep that shoots you to the 2nd to last turn and Melbourne. But the 2nd right hand turn at Melbourne 2nd gear i think......I may as well get out and walk I'm so slow get.

But also we have not settled the engine brake deal? Is map 5 more engine brake than map 1 or is 1 more brake than 5??? According to what I read map 1 is max. But I think its wrong in rfactor.

With this being my first F1 race, would some one care to share a little on fuel strategy?

Thanks,

Okay, upgraded to Windows 7 and all seems to be ok but I can't get much FFB out of my G25. Before I had the in game set at -100 and low and you could feel the rumble strips but with those settings no, I can't feel them. I have the settings in the G25 profiler the same but something just does not feel right. Has anyone had similar issues?

Thanks!

Are You referring to Real Feal plugin?
After problems with my wheel at Bahrain I installed this plugin and I love it.
My force feedback is set to High and -80. It helps me with grip control a lot.
Another big factor is sound for me, especially with grip control at fast corners.

I have it set to normal, its kind of of strange. If I raise the in game to medium it is extreme over the curbs but to drop it to low its nothing. Every time I have tried the ReelFeal plugins, I have never been able to get the car to feel stable. What do you have the reelfeal settings at?

My realfeel settings are default I guess.
I simply replaced dll or ther file for G27 in rfactor folder.

My G27 profiler settings:
Overall Effects Strenght: 105%
Spring Effect Strenght: 0%
Damper Effect Strenght: 0%
Enable centering spring is off and report combined pedals is set to off.

In game settings:
digital steering rate = 10%
digital throttle rate = 10%
digital brake rate = 10%
digital clutch rate = 10%
Speed Sensitivity = 10%
Look Ahead = 0%
head movment = 0%
exagarate yaw = 25%

Oh, after I switched to real feel I do set my force feedback on +80 not -80 as I stated before.

Well, not sure what happened but things seem to be ok now. I have the rF Lite version installed but went into my normal install of rF and it seemed ok. Went back into my "USF1" install and now its good. Who knows...thanks for the help guys!

I went through rfactor files and had to listen to each .wav file to figure out which were wheel guns and renamed that file. It is not named something easy to find like wheelguns. Sorry I can't narrow it down any more than that. But silence is golden and it does not seem to affect the game any.
